Did you ever have a feeling that you transcend to a different world when going down to the subway station or spending a night at the airport? Those places live by their very own rules and attract people that seem to be a little bit out of this world, too. Here’s a collection of bizarre photos that prove public transport is a portal to a different dimension (but we still love it!). We bring you a fresh set of photos as a 2022 update of our previous article.

The Subway Gym

If you missed your workout session at the gym there’s always a way out. Some people go for a walk, while others choose to use more stairs on that particular day.

Still, there are those people who simply can’t stand missing their exercise session, so they try to make up for it the best way they can. Maybe that’s exactly what we’re seeing in this photo?

It’s either that or the girl is just showing off her acrobatic skills, which isn’t such a bad thing, either. Subway rides can be boring and tiresome, so seeing something different is always a welcome sight.

A Night at a Lux Hotel

Just when you think you’ve seen everything there is to see on public transportation, you stumble upon this… There’s nothing wrong with having a nap and some people even manage to do it on the subway train, but having a whole bed on the subway station?

We aren’t really sure what’s happening here, but this scene looks too casual to be some kind of performance. It’s just a person comfortably sleeping in a bed inside the subway!

This bed with white sheets seems to be so out of place that it almost looks like a shot from some surreal movie. But it’s real life, ladies and gents! We just hope the person sleeping on that bed wasn’t disturbed by the sounds of subway trains coming and going.

Flight Yoga

Whether we love flying or not, we can all agree that staying in a confided space in mid-air for hours is not much fun. Your joints start aching soon enough and you desperately want to move at least a little bit.

For most people the only way out of this is go for a short walk to the WC, but then there are others whose flexibility seems to be way out of hand.

Here we see some guy doing a bizarre yoga stance right on his seat in mid-air and no one around seems to mind. Well, if he fits in there, then it must be alright? Still, it looks quite bizarre if you observe this from afar.

Quick Breakfast

For most people breakfast is something we either enjoy at home in the peace and quiet of our homes or on the go, grabbing a cup of coffee and a quick snack. Still, there are people who have a very different perspective and ways of enjoying food.

Did you ever think you could just sit and eat food in public transport like that? This guy is quite relaxed and seems to be having a good time despite the crowd around him. Just another day on a bus, nothing special!

And it’s not just any breakfast, if you look closer you will spot a bottle of alcohol nearby as well. It’s like he decided to break all rules at once!

Can You Blame Him?

Usually we don’t expect to see someone dress differently on the subway – most of the time it’s just casual style with some example of freak fashion, but you can see that everywhere these days.

But then there are moments when someone shows up and immediately draws all the attention, whether they want it or not. This is exactly what happened when this young woman showed up!

We can’t blame the guy for staring a little bit – it would be hard for anyone not to look at this eye-catching style. We hope this girl knows what she’s doing! That look is quite bold to say the least.

Prepare to Fight the Final Boss

Looking at this photo we’re really wondering what was going through this man’s mind when he was posing on the escalator like this. Did he lose some bet? Or maybe he was impersonating a boss battle?

He does look like a character from some game that we would never ever want to meet in real life. We also doubt that this pic would be a good profile photo on social media.

But what’s done is done! Now this photo has gone viral and the whole has embraced the Escalator Man. Not the kind of fame we would like for ourselves, though, but for some people it’s alright.

Just Going to Work

Did you ever wonder where the Devil goes to work? Maybe it’s some open space in a busy New York district or a personal office at some posh business center. But that means he’d have to get there somehow!

We don’t expect to see the Lord of Darkness using the subway, but hey, we all have those days when riding a car just isn’t an option.

We would expect at least some kind of disguise, though, because those glowing red eyes are a bit of a giveaway. Not to mention the horns and the whole grim attire.

The Rule Breaker

Do you ever pay attention to those ‘not allowed’ signs on public transport that are usually  glued to windows and doors? No? Well, we neither, but some people are really worried about those kinds of things.

And if you start noticing those signs you will soon realize that some of them are absolutely surreal and have nothing to do with real life.

This guy was so impressed by the prohibited signs on a bus that he simply had to break at least one of them. The no-sausages sign is both mysterious and hilarious. And the guy is being a real rebel here going against these rules!

Nothing to See Here

Back in the day the free people of nomadic tribes used to roam in vast fields riding horses and carrying falcons for special hunting parties. Well, times have definitely changed!

Some of the nomads still like to take their falcons along, but riding horses seems to be out of the questions. Trolleybuses are safer and much more comfortable.

And judging by how casual this guy is sitting there with his huge bird on the lap, this must be something he does regularly. Other passengers also seem quiet unimpressed with what’s going on right in front of their eyes. People these days are used to all kinds of bizarre stuff!

Having the Worst Day of Her Life

We’ve all had our bad days when things just went south every time we tried to be productive. Still, there are days that are so dramatically bad that we remember them for the rest of our lives and then tell our kids stories about them.

This young woman is definitely having one of those days! Not only is she crying on a subway train all alone, but she’s also wearing a wedding gown, meaning she was supposed to have the best day of her life.

We don’t know what happened to her, but the wedding obviously didn’t happen. We just hope she safely got home and there was someone to comfort her.

A Good-Luck Charm

Did you ever hop into a taxi and see one of those good-luck charms hanging on the front window? Other times you’d see air fresheners, but we doubt this is the case.

Unless, of course, the driver of this wonderful car really enjoys the smell of sausage, then our guess would be that he considers it a good-luck charm. Otherwise, why put it there at all?

This might very well be the most puzzling photos on this list because we have absolutely no idea as to why anyone would want a sausage in their car. Maybe for a quick snack? Or a bite when you’re feeling somewhat angry and stressed. Who knows!

Just a Little Bit Tired

Did you ever feel so tired that you couldn’t even stand straight? If so, then you might know what this guy was going through in the photo.

We have a few guesses – he’s either beyond tired and going home after working 24 hours non-stop, or he had too much to drink and can’t even stand straight. Either way, it’s not the most pleasant experience and we feel for this man!

We just hope someone woke him up and he managed to reach home safely in such a state.

End of the Journey

That moment when you get down from the bus without actually looking what’s underneath and suddenly fall into the abyss. We haven’t had such an experience, but judging from this photo that’s quite possible these days!

It may seem that the driver did it on purpose, but we doubt he noticed there was a huge whole in the ground. But what were the chances that he would stop at exactly that spot?

This is yet another proof that public transportation is as fun as it is dangerous. You have to always bring your A game whenever you’re riding the bus or going back from work via subway.

Strange is the New Normal

Getting on public transport is like entering a supermarket – suddenly you find yourself in an entirely different dimension filled with all kinds of people. Very strange things happen there!

It’s as if there’s some kind of rift in the time and space continuum and the reality just starts behaving in a very unexpected way. This lady, for example, must have though she was still in her apartment when she decided to organize a small bath for her feet.

It’s either that or she’s completely unhinged and doesn’t really care that she’s surrounded by dozens of people. Beauty comes first!

The King of Moustache

Subways can be so weird that we don’t even know where to start. You enter that confined space underground with hundreds of people packed into even narrower spaces of subway trains and then you start looking around…

Riding the subway is better than watching any movie if you just pay attention to what’s around you! This guy here is rocking such a luscious moustache that he could very well win a moustache contest if he took part in one.

Seriously, we don’t know how he can live with such a huge moustache and be comfortable about it, but we are very, very impressed. Kissing must be not very fun for him, though.

Hello from the 18th Century

If you remember all those bizarre hairstyles from history books, then this lady might slightly ring a bell. Doesn’t her look outstanding? Freakish, but definitely outstanding.

Nowadays you can find tutorials of 18thcentury weird updos on YouTube, but for some reason we doubt she followed one of those. It seems she was born with this hair! Or at least created her very own hairstyle and is rocking it to the fullest.

We doubt it’s going be a trend anytime soon, but this woman definitely deserves an award in some crazy hair contest. Mind you, she’s just casually riding the bus in what seems like work attire.  Sitting at the office with this hairdo requires lots of bravery and a very peculiar sense of style.

The Animal Kingdom

There’s hardly anything cuter than fluffy animals and raccoons, although they are quite mischievous, are incredibly lovely. Seeing them in their natural habitat is one of the greatest things ever!

But this time someone encountered a raccoon on the subway train and we have absolutely no idea how the creature got in there. Well, he seems happy receiving some snacks while hanging on the handle, but we really hope his human was somewhere around.

Out of all the bizarre photos on the list this might very well be the cutest ones! Maybe people should bring more lovely animals with them to lighten up the mood.

Wait a Minute…

There’s nothing better then riding on public transport with your best pet friend. Still, something must be said about animal rights violations as we can’t imagine this would be alright no matter what country you choose.

Riding with your doggo like this would definitely be a problem for most people, especially passengers, but if you look closer you’ll notice something special about this dog in particular.

Yes, you’re right, it’s not a real one! Although it does look remarkably life-like, it’s only a toy pet, not a real dog. The driver must have felt lonely so he decided to at least own a toy pet if he can’t afford having a real one.

Don’t Mind Me and My Toaster

That awkward moment when you didn’t have the time to have breakfast and have to improvise on the go. But seriously, who takes a toaster along with them? Especially on the subway.

We get it, subway is a very special place and when you get there it’s like falling through the black hole – you simply end up in a different world!

Still, seeing something like this is always surprising, no matter how many time you ride a subway train. Somehow people manage to come up with unusual things to do underground and they never repeat themselves!

The Ultimate Sleeping Position

If you’ve ever had a long haul flight then you know just how uncomfortable airport chairs are. No matter where you go, unless there are special sleeping pods, there’s no way you’re getting a few hours of comfortable sleep at the airport.

That’s why people are coming up with all kinds of crazy ideas to find a comfortable pose for their nap. Some of them are more creative than others!

We aren’t sure we would try sleeping like this, but this pose seems to work for this guy, although it does seem a little bit dangerous. Still better than sleeping on the floor!
